Introduction
#Genetics term was given by w.bateson.
Genetics=collectuve study of heredity and variation.
Haredity = Transmission of genetics characters from parent to offspring.
Variation = Individual of same species have some difference, these are called variation.
G.j mendal = father of Genetics
W.bateson = father of modern genetics.
Morgan = father of experimental genetics.
He perfromed experiment on drosophila and proposed various concepts like linkag, sex linkage, crossing over ,criss cross inheritance.
Some genteical terms
1. Factors :- unit of heredity which is responsible for inheritance and appearance of characters.
2. Allele:- alternative forms of a gene which are located on same position on the homlogous chromosome.
3. Homozygous:- a zygote is formed by fusion of two gametes having indentical factors is called homozygous.
4. Heterzygous:- a zygote is formed by fusion of two different types of gametes carrying different factors called heterozygote.
5. Hemizygous:- if individual contains only one gene of a pair then individual said to be hemizygous.
6. Phenotype :- it is the external and morphological appearance of an organism for a particular character.
7. Phenocopy :- if different genotype are placed in different environment condition then they produce same phenotype.
8. Genotype:- the Genetic constitution or genetic make- up of an orgainsm for a particular character.
